How to Play Mahjong Solitaire
Mahjong Solitaire is a solo tile matching puzzle. Your goal is to remove every tile by matching identical free tiles.
1. Find Free Tiles
A tile is free when no higher tile is covering it. This beginner-friendly game uses a simple top-surface rule, so visible uncovered tiles can be selected.
2. Match Identical Pairs
Select two free tiles with the same tile face. Most matches are exact matches: Bamboo 3 matches Bamboo 3, and Red Dragon matches Red Dragon. Flower and season tiles now match the exact same face.
3. Clear the Board
Every match removes two tiles. Keep opening the board from the outside inward until all pairs are gone.
What If You Get Stuck?
If no free matching pair remains, use Shuffle or start a new game. A stuck board is part of the puzzle rather than a failure.
